CMC (Sodium carboxymethylcellulose)

Sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) is a highly effective additive for improving product and processing characteristics in various fields, including food, technical applications and pharmaceuticals.

CMC is a kind of cellulose ether with anion contour’s high molecular structure. It has no smell, no taste and no toxicity. The white to slightly yellowish powder and graininess can be easily melt in water and become colloidal solution, but it can’t melt in alcohol, either, acetone and other organic solvent.

It has good water solubility. It has functions of thickening, binding, water-maintaining, emulsifying, and suspending, etc. in its water solution, so it can be widely used as thickener, water-maintainer, dispersing agent, emulsifier, stabilizer, and adhesive.
